About the Positions:
President, Vice President, Spirit Chairperson, Community Service, and Room Representatives are year-round positions.
Please note, all positions will require you to be comfortable (and allowed to) create and star in videos that will be viewed by the whole school. All positions will also require students to be Cougars In Action to support students during primary recess.
President (5th Grade): Oversees meetings with Student Council, facilitates discussions, and holds all officers accountable for their responsibilities; leads flag salutes; greets and welcomes important guests at school; serves as a contact person between Student Council, our principal, and PTA.
Vice President (4th Grade): Assists and/or acts as the president when necessary, helps facilitate communication with the Student Body; greets and welcomes important guests at school; organizes monthly CARE events at school. Takes notes and attendance at meetings.
Spirit Chairperson (5th Grade): Creates and facilitates spirit days, leads school assemblies, and writes "Thank You" cards and posters on behalf of Student Council.
Community Service (5th Grade): Helps to create 2-4 service projects within the semester to help in the community of Center Street, El Segundo, the South Bay, and the world.
Room Representatives (4th Grade & 5th Grade): Attends meetings and shares the information with assigned classrooms.
